Advertising Specifications

Advertisements:

We prefer to receive all ads as high resolution (press quality) PDF files at full size. Please provide a hard copy printout of your ad along with the PDF.

All photos or scanned art within the ad must be CMYK and at least 300 dpi at 100%. Line art (bitmap) must be at least 600 dpi at 100%. Fonts must be embedded in your PDF.

We can, however, accept ads that are built in QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or CorelDraw, with the following requirements:

For Mac QuarkXPress and InDesign files, you must also send all fonts and graphic images that are in your ad (use "Collect for output" in QuarkXpress or "Package" in InDesign).

For PC QuarkXPress and InDesign files, you must also send all graphic images that are in your ad (use "Collect for output" in QuarkXpress or "Package" in InDesign). All text must be converted to paths or outlines in another program and placed as a graphic; we cannot work with PC fonts.

Photoshop (PC or Mac) files must be CMYK and at least 300 dpi at 100%.

Illustrator or CorelDraw (PC or Mac) files must be saved as .eps files and all text must be converted to paths or outlines.

We regret that we cannot accept any files submitted to us in Word, Publisher, or PageMaker. Bangor Metro will be happy to recreate your ad in a professional design program for a nominal feel.

Magazine Photos:
We can scan your transparencies or high quality prints, or you may send high-resolution digital files. Images in consideration for the cover must be at least 8.5"w x 11"h at 300 dpi (2550 x 3300 pixels). All other images must be 300 dpi at full size. We prefer TIFF file format, but you may send a JPEG if you have only compressed it one time.
