Bangor Y's Isaac Farrar Mansion recently hosted yet another celebration - one in honor of the historic beauty itself.

In mid-March, about 75 people gathered for the Mansion Magic Wine and Hors d’oeuvre Tasting Event at the Bangor Y’s Isaac Farrar Mansion. The group toasted the past and the future of this beautiful historic property by raising funds to assist with essential maintenance and repairs of the 1846 mansion, a registered landmark.

State Street Wine Cellar featured several wine selections for tasting throughout the mansion, ranging from light, crisp summer whites to a full, robust red. Hors d’oeuvres were prepared, donated, and served by three local caterers in the various rooms of the elegant property: Bountiful Kitchen Culinary Services, Silver Plate Caterers, a division of Eastern Agency on Aging, and Anne Marie’s Kitchen all offered fare worthy of a great celebration. It seems appropriate, as Isaac Farrar, an important merchant and banker, built the Greek Revival mansion on Union Street as a wedding present for his wife. The event helped make sure that the Isaac Farrar Mansion will continue to be available for weddings, business receptions, educational events, and other important endeavors throughout the year.
